Marco De Franchi (Rome, 1962) acknowledges that he has a noir side that has always dwelled in him. Since childhood, he dreamed of being a writer as much as he wanted to be an investigator. He has, in fact, a background as chief police commissioner, a period during which he worked at the Servizio Centrale Operativo (SCO), the Italian investigative bureau closest to the FBI.
Field experiences were instrumental in writing the thriller The Doom of the Living, published by Longanesi in 2022.
He lives between Pisa and Livorno with his wife Debora and two children.
