Pietro Del Soldà was born in Venice in 1973.
For Radio3, a network he has worked with since 2001, he is the author and host of the daily program “Tutta la città ne parla” and, with Edoardo Camurri, of the program of impossible interviews with great authors of the past “Tutta l’umanità ne parla.” He has also contributed to other in-depth cultural programs such as “Men and Prophets,” “Radio3Mondo” and “Pantheon.”
He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from Ca’ Foscari University in Venice and writes about philosophy for Domenica del Sole24Ore.
In 2007 published his first book, “The Demon of Politics. Rereading Plato: dialogue, happiness, justice.” He is next the author of “Not Only of Things of Love. We, Socrates and the Pursuit of Happiness” (Marsilio 2018, now republished in Feltrinelli’s Tascabili and winner of the 2018 Biblioteche di Roma Prize and the 2019 Alessandro Leogrande Prize) and “On the Wings of Friends. A Philosophy of Encounter” (Marsilio 2020, City of Roses Prize 2020 and Melvin Jones Prize 2021). His latest book is “Life Outside of Itself. A Philosophy of Adventure,” published by Marsilio in 2022.
For his radio activity, he was awarded the 2018 Flaiano International Award.
